Biology Content Specialist / Sales & Customer Relations Team Member

SimBio is a leading developer of innovative software that engages undergraduate biology students world-wide in active inquiry and discovery-based learning. We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills who is passionate about biology and science education to join our sales and customer relations team.

This position is based in our Missoula, MT office. Start date is flexible.


Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Learning our content and becoming an expert user of SimUText, our proprietary delivery system.
  • Regularly interfacing with professors who are potentially interested in adopting our materials, helping them identify modules to integrate into their courses.
  • Staying in touch with professors who currently use our modules to make sure they have the support they need.
  • Becoming an expert user of our CRM (customer relationship management) database, which we use to manage contacts, tasks, and orders.
  • Helping coordinate and conduct outreach to current and prospective customers via emails and webinars.
  • Traveling to conduct workshops and demonstrate modules at conferences and to conduct sales visits.
  • Periodically working with our content development team to gather input from instructors and to test and provide feedback about new content.

Strong Candidates:

  • Have post-graduate education (MA or equivalent) in ecology, evolution, cell biology, and/or genetics.
  • Have experience teaching undergraduate biology.
  • Have exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Are friendly, engaging, collaborative, highly organized, and extremely detail oriented.
  • Are proficient with spreadsheet/database programs and learn new programs quickly.
  • Are willing to travel for work.
  • Are comfortable in the realms of customer service and sales.

Compensation and Hours:

  • 40 hours/week
