Fish Farm, Boston Museum of Science
Our Fish Farm interactive kiosk at the Museum of Science, Boston, was part of the Making Models exhibit (opened June, 2003) which explored all kinds of models and their role in science. The Fish Farm interactive asked visitors to control a disease on a fish farm by changing the concentration of the fish or by vaccinating a percentage of the fish. Visitors could see how diseases spread through a population, and learn how vaccination is related to population density in disease transmission. The interactive also pioneered a new sound-enabled graph that lets visually-impaired visitors play the game. Museum testing found visitors spent an average of 4 minutes playing with Fish Farm.
