SimBio has been a leading developer of innovative educational software used worldwide in college biology courses for over 20 years. We are re-engineering our popular products for a web-based environment and are seeking a mid to senior-level Java Developer to join our Software Development Team. This position will involve design, implementation, testing, and support of the server-side components based on product requirements.

Education and Experience (Required):
- Degree in CS or related field
- 5 or more years of experience in Java development
- Knowledgeable of J2EE
- Familiarity with ACID concepts such as transaction isolation
- Experience using servlet containers (Tomcat preferred)
- Understanding of RESTful services, Jax-RS, and application frameworks (Jersey preferred)
- Proficiency in Java-based database interaction
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases: MySQL (preferred) or Oracle
- Experience with JSON/XML.
Preferred Additional Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with database administration
- Knowledge of data architecture principles for mission-critical databases
- Experience using ORM products (Hibernate preferred)
- Exposure to performance/stress testing
