With a Phase I SBIR grant from the National Institutes of Health, SimBio has developed the foundation of a new program (GeneBeaker) for teaching genetics using simulated experiments. GeneBeaker will combine both classical genetics and molecular biology techniques into a single program. The simulated laboratories will allow students to perform crosses, sequence DNA, and conduct other procedures in the modern geneticists arsenal. The laboratories will explore the wide range of topics taught in a typical introductory-level genetics class.
