Testing Changing Environmental Factors on Plant Physiology
This assessment asks students to test a hypothesis concerning the impact of CO2 concentrations and temperature over time on plant physiology. Specifically, students are asked to investigate the impact of increasing CO2 concentrations on plant stomatal density, guard cells size, and leaf size. Students are presented with eight variables including such things as average temperature, plant type and stomatal densities within five different time frames. Students are asked to test three predictions drawn from the hypothesis by graphing the appropriate variables for each prediction. Each graph is a separate task in the assessment.
