WORKBOOK LAB – Upper Division

Overview

This lab and accompanying workbook explore the use of RNA sequence data to understand evolutionary history, challenging students to estimate how long ago HIV-1 spread from chimps to humans. In addition, students learn about the utility of synonymous vs. non-synonymous mutations for detecting selection.
