WORKBOOK LAB – Upper Division

Overview

This lab simulates a population of endangered butterflies, challenging students to propose and justify a habitat restoration scheme that will maximize survivorship. Students investigate edge effects and how landscape features (e.g., corridors and stepping stones) affect populations, and then explore how models can help guide research.
